SERIKALI Yapiga Marufuku Kusoma Degree Bila Kupita Form Six



Waziri wa Elimu na mafunzo ya ufundi Pro.Joyce Ndalichako amepiga marufuku wanafunzi kujiunga na masomo ya Shahada (degree) bila kupita kidato cha sita. Marufuku hiyo itaanza rasmi katikals mwaka ujao wa masomo. Prof.Ndalichako emesema mfumo wa elimu huria umechangia kuzalisha wasomi butu kwa kupokea wanafunzi dhaifu kitaaluma.

Ndalichako amesema wanafunzi wanaofeli kidato cha nne na kwenda kusoma certificate na baadae diploma ili wajiunge vyuo vikuu hawataruhusiwa kujiunga na masomo ya shahada (degree) kama hawajarudia (reseat) masomo yao na kupata alama za kwenda kidato cha tano, na wafanye mitihani ya kidato cha sita na kufaulu ndipo wajiunge vyuo vikuu.

Katika utaratibu huo, wanafunzi wa kidato cha nne watakaoruhusiwa kusoma shahada (degree) bila kupita kidato cha 5 na 6 ni wale waliofaulu kidato cha 4 na wakachaguliwa kwenda kusoma katika vyuo vya ufundi daraja la kati (Technicians). Lakini wale wanaokosa "credit" za kuendelea form five na kuamua kwenda certificate mwisho wao utakuwa diploma.

Kuhusu "foundation courses" kwa wanafunzi wa kidato cha sita walioshindwa kupata sifa za kusoma degree, Ndalichako amesema Foundation course haimuongezei mtu sifa.

"Kama mtu amemaliza kidato cha 6 akashindwa kufikisha "points" za kujiunga chuo kikuu, asidahiliwe kwa kusoma foundatiom course. Anapaswa kurudia mtihani wa kidato cha 6 kwa sababu baraza la mitihani linatoa fursa ya kurudia mara nyingi iwezekanavyo. Foundation course haimuongezei mtu sifa kama hana sifa zinazotakiwa kitaaluma" Amesisitiza Ndalichako.
